Moms of Deployed Soldiers is a new organization that has formed to help the families of deployed soldiers with special needs that families face while soldiers are deployed. The need was recently illustrated when a deployed soldier learned that a tree had fallen on a soldier’s house back home, and the financially-stressed family needed help. A Chili Supper is being held to raise money Friday night, April 2, from 5 to 7. Call for information or tickets to the Chili Supper: 578-7361 284-4151, 897-2902.

It’s the ABATE District 2 Group sponsoring APRIL FOOLS POKER RUN Saturday, April 3 leaving from THE ASSOCIATION CLUBHOUSE at 202 S. Patrick. First bike out at 1PM, Last bike out at 2PM. Jonesboro Foundation of Arts. Flowers for Algernon performing April 24-26 at The Forum in Downtown Jonesboro. PJs for Algernon, a partnership with FOA and Department of Human Services, is an effort to collect pajamas for kids who are part of the DHS system. Donate pajamas by bringing them by The Forum and Church/Monroe Downtown and drop them in the lobby. Ceremony to be held Craighead County Courthouse Lawn Monday, April 5 at 2PM to raise awarness of child abuse going on in our community. There were 311 substantiated cases of child abuse in Craighead County just last year. www.neacac.net
