Moms of Deployed Soldiers is a new organization that has formed to help the families of deployed soldiers with special needs that  families face while soldiers are deployed.  The need was recently illustrated when a deployed soldier learned that a tree had fallen on a soldier’s house back home, and the financially-stressed family needed help.  A Chili Supper is being held to raise money Friday night, April 2, from 5 to 7.  Call for information or tickets to the Chili Supper: 578-7361 284-4151, 897-2902.

Trumann High School Drama Department performing “Unhappily Ever After” performing this week.  Thursday-7, Friday-7, Saturday-2.  Tickets at The Main Attraction on Speedway in Trumann or at the High School.

It’s the ABATE District 2 Group sponsoring APRIL FOOLS POKER RUN Saturday, April 3 leaving from THE ASSOCIATION CLUBHOUSE at 202 S. Patrick.  First bike out at 1PM, Last bike out at 2PM.  Coming back in at 4pm.  $100 for first place hand.  Losing hand gets $50.  $5 a hand is the cost.  Benefitting Special Olympics.  Call 243-6300 for information.

United Way Gary Schuchardt Memorial 5k Run/Walk June 5 at 8AM.  Proceeds used for United Way and fund two scholarships given by Rotary Club.  Corporate teams will be part of this year’s event.  Register by May 14 to guarantee your t-shirt size.  Click Here.

Jonesboro Foundation of Arts.  Flowers for Algernon performing  April 24-26 at The Forum in Downtown Jonesboro.  PJs for Algernon, a partnership with FOA and Department of Human Services, is an effort to collect pajamas for kids who are part of the DHS system.   Donate pajamas by bringing them by The Forum and Church/Monroe Downtown and drop them in the lobby.  Auditions for summer music, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be the first weekend in May.  www.foajonesboro.org for more information.

Ceremony to be held Craighead County Courthouse Lawn Monday, April 5 at 2PM  to raise awarness of child abuse going on in our community.  There were 311 substantiated cases of child abuse in Craighead County just last year.  www.neacac.net

So, it’s no secret that Trey is going on Spring Break with his family next week.  On the trip, they’ll see a Justin Bieber Concert in Houston, TX.  Also found out today that Justin will do shows in Little Rock and Memphis this summer.  The Little Rock show is July 29, the Memphis show is July 31.  Click Here to get tickets from Ticketmaster.
